FMP | Cath Kidston Printed Textiles

Spending some more time researching this morning, this time in the way of Cath Kidston, acclaimed printed textiles and surface pattern designer whose highly praised work has now, in more recent years, found it's way onto the high street through her own Cath Kidston brand stores.

Inspired by quintessential English-ness and kitsch patterns, Kidston's work epitomises playful youth and romance for the well dressed woman and child.

Again, much like Orla Keily's work in a previous blog post, I think that the designs that Steph and I produce for the hypothetical Laura Ashley S / S 2013 Home Interiors Collection brief will be far more anatomical and traditional (to suit the existing Laura Ashley print archive and range), but, again, we will certainly take inspiration from the application of print and pattern and the vast range of deliverables we could produce in such a style for our living room / lounge designs.
