FMP | Digital Fabric Printing

-

Throughout the hypothetical Laura Ashley S / S 2013 Home Interiors Collection brief, Steph and I hope to experiment with a variety of print process to explore the best potential application of our designs onto textiles and fabrics.

One of these, which I have been fortunate enough to work with in the past, is digital fabric printing, which, luckily, we have access and usage of within the University facilities.

In modern - day printing, digital fabric printing is frequently used for short run, high- density / detail colour printing (examples of which, in regards to both home interiors and fashion, shown above and below), which would be perfect for both experimentations, and, should the designs so demand it (particularly if Steph's style is her more usual, detailed designs, as opposed to bold, graphic prints), potentially for the finalised outcomes.

Really looking forward to getting stuck into the brief over the next couple of days and hopefully making some focused design decisions to get the ball rolling, and starting to produce some really beautiful and professionally finished and considered design outcomes.
