FMP | Laura Ashley Print Archive

-

Although throughout the hypothetical Laura Ashley S / S 2013 Home Interiors Collection brief, my collaborative design partner, Steph, will have a lot more of a role and prominence in regards to the illustrative design and pattern making, I still feel, particularly from a branding perspective, it's really important that I develop an understanding of the visual outcomes and print that influence the brand identity and distinctive use of type, in particular, throughout both the web and print - based brand deliverables of the company.

A quintessentially British brand, Laura Ashley's print archive largely documents a study of nature, geometry, floral and fauna (of which we ourselves throughout the brief have also gone on to study and visually develop) with a real sense of femininity and elegance that I hope to emulate throughout the brand deliverables and typographic design.

As print and patterns are developed by Steph, her clear illustrative or print processing, again, will have an influence on the brand and logotype / marks, and should help to define our range as a sub-brand within the context of a proposed collection for the Laura Ashley over - arching brand.
