Throughout the BA (Hons) Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design brief, despite, at this point, only having the PDF Yearbook production as a guarenteed outcome, we will still be actively looking for ways to visually communicate the processes of this, primarily, traditionally print - based course with innovative and creative techniques and methods of application.

One of the most clear ways to visually communicate some of the processes and practices on the course is throughout print production - one of the most attractive, and, best of all, cost effective methods being through screenprinting, of which the college boasts some fantastic facilities. Although traditionally reserved for one or two-colour printing (particularly when printing onto fabrics), screenprinting can be a very experimental and creative form of production with various inks, colours, textures and materials to which the inks and patterns can be designed.

Although at this point a concept is yet to be developed with the tutors from the course programme (something we expect to define throughout an initial meeting within the next few days [we expect]), we can certainly propose this as a potential point of experimentation, not only to explore and expand upon our existing skills set, but, as aforementioned, most importantly, to represent the wealth of facilities and capabilities of the college and it's students / alumni.
