FMP | Laura Ashley Branding

www.performanceinfashion.co.uk

Throughout the S/S 2013 Laura Ashley Home Interiors Collection brief, in which I am collaborating with fellow Graphic Design student, Steph Lawson, my focused role within the project will be to establish and develop the branding and promotional material for the new, hypothetical range.

Of course, although we will be additionally branding the range within the over- arching Laura Ashley brand, the heritage branding has long been established. The distinctive vibrant green serif, uppercase logo (the most contemporary logo and rebrand design) visually communicates the quintessential "Englishness" of the brand, the countryside, and the flora and fauna from which the printed patterns and designs often take inspiration and influence from.

The brand mark can be seen applied to a diverse range of Laura Ashley products and brand media, from perfume bottles and clothing labels, to storefront windows and catalogue and marketing campaigns, effectively showcasing the versatility and 'stamp of quality' from the typographic logo design that works simply and effectively, and can be recognised throughout the world, communicating and translating the history, elegance and femininity of the brand.
