Branding design for Definitive Studio, Graphic Design & Communications Agency on the Scottish Borders

-

Throughout the design development and initial concept development for the branding, and, in particular, the brand logo for Geek Table, one of my main objective was to create a simple brand image that could, primarily, work as a means of branding our separate portfolios and diverse range of work as one entity. I believe that typographic logos are one of the most accessible ways of doing this, creating a reasonably neutral, though still characteristic brand logo with subtle visual communication.

Ideally, we want to strike a balance between the visual representation of type and image, with a mixture of specialisms within the portfolio from both groups, with a playful or creative variety of letterforms within a typeface and creative application of the logo.

In this blog post are some of the most simple, yet effective, uses of typographic branding found within my research, using various print methods (particularly utilising high- end print production methods such as foiling and letterpress) to add character and individuality to the brand aesthetic.
