FMP | La Petit Macaron Net Mock Ups

This afternoon I spent a little bit of time printing and constructing practice nets for the La Petit Macaron packaging element of the brief, with the packaging that I had designed so far.

Due to the nature of only having an A4 printer (with some of the packaging needed to be printed on A0...) it was disappointing having to scale everything down and, naturally, as a result, the process was quite fiddly and time consuming. However, it was a really good opportunity to see some of the errors that had been made in the design and visualisation, having designed and adapted the structures myself, and some of the fundamental changes that would need to be made. Despite this, I'm pleased with the overall outcome. I think the colour with the pattern accent works really well, and I am a big fan of the consistent rectangular/square structure and composition of the packaging to contrast with the polka dots, and when I have a more defined measure of the macarons themselves (busy baking over the next two days...) then I will be able to make far more considered edits and amendments to the overall design.

When I return to Uni early next week, I also hope to print more mock ups to scale to create sample nets to get a sense of the scale I will be working with, and whether the errors in construction were related to it's scale in any way.
