Throughout the collaborative, hypothetical Laura Ashley S / S 2013 Home Interiors Collection brief, Steph and I hope to develop a range and collection which is both unique and innovative, but also sits comfortably within the existing Laura Ashley range, and could visually sit alongside other product range on the website.
To ensure this, substantial research needs to be taken out throughout the project to ensure not only the print and pattern - making is reasonably consistent with the pattern archive of the company's past collections, but also that the branding, editorial and web - based media maintains a visually consistency too.
One thing that is particularly evident throughout their online and print - based catalogues in the photographic - heavy set design and imagery throughout, which is something we're really keen to explore throughout our own work, both as research and for the editorial and promotional design stages.
Over the next couple of week we hope to focus on research and concept development, but will then actively start to source British flowers to use as a drawing study, and to photographically capture for my own responsibilities and area of focus throughout the project (branding and editorial design).
