FMP | La Petit Macaron Stationary Development

This evening I've spent some more time developing the designs for the stationary element of the 'La Petit Macaron' brief.

After first distinguishing an appropriately matched PANTONE colour to add a level of professionalism and brand identity/guidelines to the colour palette (having chosen P 133-11 U [Process Colour, which will prove useful in print production]), I went on to look at the composition and initial design of the stationary itself. After first designing to the standard 85mm x 55mm business card design, I remembered the mini cards by Moo, and felt this slim, rectangular style would perfectly emulate the style of the macaron boxes I propose to design, as well as, again, emphasising the 'Petit' element of the brand name.

After consideration, I also decided to add only the shop address details to the card, as I felt this would add more prestige to the shop, and definitely add to the boutique, destination appeal... a brand that will popularise due to word of mouth, quality, and character... all elements that I want to highlight within the brief.

I have now gone on to emulate this rectangular shape within both the envelope design (to house the standard format A4 letterhead design), along with name/colour coded flags for the macarons when displayed.

I have also gone on to research napkin and apron printing (again, both in rectangular composition) and hope to progress a great deal more with the brief tomorrow, in time to have a significant body of work to send to a designer (of whom I am currently working with... more details on my PPD blog soon) who has kindly agreed to crit me, and, I'm sure, this will be a fantastic opportunity to receive some constructive feedback.
