FMP | Alumni of Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Degree

Louise Tiler

-

Throughout the next couple of weeks, as a group, we will be hoping to develop the proposed design for the BA (Hons) Surface Pattern & Textile Design degree yearbook to it's full extent, with full body copy written and set by the time we return to Uni for the yearbook photoshoot planned for April 22nd.

Although, as a group, it's not something we have discussed in full detail at this time, one particular element that we do hope to emphasise is the "destination" chapters, and life after Uni. Part of this would be looking further into the alumni of students on the course, and what designers have gone on to achieve.

From following their work throughout the past year(s) (from seeing the 2011/2012 end of year degree show), I have been fortunate enough to witness the progress and the own professional journeys of a handful of the alumni students, a few as shown on this page, including Louise Tiler, Damien Barlow, and Lisa Martin, all of whom have gone on to do very well in their own right.

Although, having spoken to Duncan a little more, we really want to focus on the degree group as a group (or a tribe), if we do mention the alumni of the course, or address it within the yearbook, it may well be worth mentioning the achievements alone, and not the names, to prevent any sense of achievement hierarchy, and, again, keeping the students neutral, and demonstrating their successes as a group collective.
